The X-Berg Challenge

Calling all runners, mountain bikers and paragliders. The annual X-Berg Challenge is a three-and-a-half-day adventure race, spanning 150 km of Drakensberg terrain. The aim of the race is to cross the finish line as quickly as possible, but the route you follow and how you cover the distance is completely up to you! Simply run, ride or glide – or use a combination of the three, if you’re a jack of all trades – past the official turn points in the correct order.

Race Across the Drakensberg

Interested? The entry fee of R1750.00pp includes ground support, a four-day pass to the KZN Wildlife Park, real-time live tracking, emergency support, daily goodie bags and more. But whether you choose to race the X-Berg Challenge solo, in a team, or relay between turn points, the entry requirements are no run of the mill. You have to be qualified and experienced in paragliding, adventure racing, mountaineering and/or mountain biking to qualify.

Stay at Oaklands

After 150km of action-packed adventure racing, no one will blame you for wanting a little R&R. A stay at Oaklands Country Manor in the tranquil Northern Drakensberg is exactly what you need to relax, regroup and recuperate after the X-Berg Challenge.
